This is a work of fiction. Sorry, there is no actual ring of giant rotating cylinders in space. This is a fantasy based on real concernts in 2024, LGBTQ Rights, Freedom of expression, Religious dominance. It depicts people to whom fighting for freedom means fighting for their homes, families and lives against a dominating Religion that find their expressions incompatible. I want to make it clear that though a strict Christian movement is depicted as villainous, the real villain, a high official is a grifter & criminal who uses Religion to fulfill his nearly pornographic need to be worshipped. If you think of me as an infidel who wants only pleasure, not principles, then please ban this Novella. I believe in Science, but I also believe in spirituality. We cannot live among the stars on Science alone. We need magic, wonder, imagination to make that effor worth its while. I do not judge you, but I challenge you.
To our gentle Christian, Muslim & Jewish friends who find themselves having to explain their bedrock faith, I welcome you in peace and respect. I have religious friends and seen people of faith advance our Civilization. As a blind man dependent on the technology provided by many people of faith, I am grateful. I do not feel the same way about your Institutions which enable and enoble many Zeke Salvations. Maybe you can change the human nature of your divine leadership, maybe in you lay the seed of new houses built upon ethical grounds.
